CHILD CARE SERVICES

  • While classes are canceled for Jamestown Public School students, we understand the importance of childcare for working families. We have worked with our community partners who can provide limited childcare for students whose parents cannot be excused from work at this time.

Childcare services will be provided five days a week beginning this Thursday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM at the following locations:

    • For any JPS student in grades K-5, childcare will be provided at Ring by the YMCA and Fletcher by the YWCA.
    • For any JPS student ages 3 and 4, childcare will be provided by the YWCA, A Children’s Place, and Chautauqua Opportunities.
    • Breakfast and lunch will be provided by the Jamestown Public Schools.

Our community childcare program still has many spaces available! Priority will be given to parents who work in healthcare, public safety, and first responders.

If you have a child age 3 to 11 and are in need of childcare, please reach out to childcare@jpsny.org or call 716-203-1539 for information.

  • UPDATE 3/23/2020 12:00 PM - EXTENDED CHILD CARE SERVICES

As we continue our efforts to serve children and families, we understand that there may be childcare needs beyond what our district can provide. Childcare needs may be changing, especially for those who provide essential services such as Healthcare, Child Welfare, First Responders, Food Manufactures, Transportation, Construction and Manufacturing, and Non-Profit and Social Service Agencies. Financial assistance will be made available to families who are considered essential to the health and safety of the community.

In order to fully assess the child care needs of our families, the Chautauqua County Child Care Council is asking families who may need childcare to complete the following survey:    Child Care Survey

Families who are considered essential workers and cannot be excused from work are encouraged to contact the Child Care Council Resource and Referral Specialist who can assist with finding child care beyond that which the district can provide. You may reach out to the Child Care Council for any child care needs at 1-800-424-4532 or childcare@chautopp.org.
