District Census

  • New York State Education Law Section 3241 requires school districts to maintain a census to account for any child who resides within the district, including those who are not enrolled in the Jamestown Public Schools. The district census may be used to project future class sizes and allocate resources to our neighborhood schools.

You must complete the census form if you reside within the Jamestown City School District and:

    • have a child from birth to age 5 who does not attend a district preschool program, or
    • have a school-age child under age 21 who does not attend the Jamestown Public Schools and has not yet graduated from high school.

This includes students who reside within the district but who attend a non-public school or another school district.

To complete the district census, please:
