    2018-2019 First Grade SMART Goals:

    ELA Goals:

    • 80% of students will improve a MINIMUM of 3 guided reading levels by the end of the year.
    • 80% of students will improve a minimum of 1 guided reading levels by January. 

    Assessment:

    Benchmark Running Records in Sept., January, and May. Progress monitoring throughout the year.

    What if they meet the goal early?

    Students will continue to be challenged in ACCEL and skills groups to ensure that additional progress is being made.

    What if they are not making progress towards meeting their goal?

    Students will receive additional help in skills group, and ACCEL groups. Students will also be given skills reinforcement homework sheets to work at home with parents. 

    Action Plan:

    A letter explaining to parents about what the module stresses, for parent reinforcement. Contact with parents to discuss lack of progress.

    Math Goals

    80% of students will be able to complete a minimum of 8 subtraction problems in a 90 seconds  using numbers 0-10 by the end of the year.

    Assessment:

    Math Fluency tests given at the beginning, middle, and end of the year; with CFA progress monitoring.
    Sprints will be given at least three times a week. Morning math addition/subtraction fluency practice is given throughout the year.

    What if they meet the goal early?

    Students will be challenged in math ACCEL according to their abilities.

    What if they are not making progress towards meeting their goal?

    • Additional practice through Teach me on the IPAD
    • Math ACCEL, small group help, one on one, para aide, grandparent.
    • Math homework in addition/subtraction will be given at least three times per week
