    Dear Parent/Guardian:

We are beginning our adventure into Family and Consumer Sciences. This trimester we will be learning about many different things including Money Management, Family, and Sewing!

During the second part of the trimester students will be creating a drawstring bag using a sewing machine. Your child will need to bring in fabric. The fabric can be purchased at Wal-Mart, check the “sale” shelves, and at JoAnn’s Fabric Store. If there is a concern about purchasing fabric, I do have a few fabric pieces available for $1.00. The fabric is due on January 7th, although your son/daughter may bring it into the classroom at anytime before then. Please do not bring in any fabric that is furry, stretches or is silky.

    • You will need 1/2 yard of fabric or 2 fat quarters for the drawstring bag.

*The best fabric for our project is a Cotton or Cotton/Blend.

If you have any questions, concerns, need help, or would like to help us sew, please feel free to contact me.
