Snacks & Water

  • You may send your child with a healthy snack each day.  It should be a single serving and something that isn’t too messy.  Acceptable snacks are things such as fruit, veggies, crackers, pretzels, granola bars, etc.  Please do not send in chips, cookies, or sweets. The district provides a snack Wednesday-Friday. Click here to view the Fruits and Vegetables Menu.

Your child should also bring a water bottle with water only.  Please make sure that it has a pull top cap to prevent spills.  Bottles with removable lids will not be allowed in class.

  • Homework is assigned Monday-Thursday. Please take a moment each night to look in your child’s homework folder for assignments. A homework folder will be coming home with your child to help keep her/him organized. Please make sure that she/he brings it back to school each morning. You will find her/his spelling list on the back.

Reading every night for 20 minutes is a school-wide expectation. Third grade participates in the Pizza Hut Book It Program. Students complete a monthly reading log to earn a coupon for a free personal pizza. Books are available from the school library, classroom library, and the book-lending cart (in the main hallway every Tuesday). Students who complete their monthly reading are invited to eat lunch in the classroom with the teacher to celebrate their achievement.
