Instructional Coaches
Instructional Coaches
At Jamestown Public Schools, instructional coaches help strengthen teaching and learning in every classroom and across every school.
Instructional coaches are experienced teachers serving on special assignment — not administrators — who work alongside educators as collaborative partners. Their support is personalized to each teacher’s goals and may include:
- Implementing effective student behavior strategies
- Facilitating classroom visits and opportunities to learn from colleagues
- Co-planning engaging lessons with new and experienced teachers
- Integrating technology in ways that deepen student thinking and creativity
- Personalizing learning to better meet the needs of every student
- Exploring new instructional strategies, resources and approaches
Support provided to individual teachers is confidential unless the teacher requests otherwise. Instructional coaches do not participate in the evaluation process. Their role is to support educators so educators can best support their students.
The best way to discover how an instructional coach can help is to start a conversation. Our coaches are committed to educators’ professional growth and excited to collaborate, inspire and help elevate the learning experience in every classroom.
