LEAP (Learning Enrichment and Academic Progress)
The camp includes breakfast and lunch, reading instruction, academic enrichment, engaging activities, and field trips and is made possible through a partnership between the Jamestown YMCA and YWCA and the Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys & Girls Club of Jamestown.

Daily Structure
8:30 - Campers arrive at school - parents drop off
8:30 - 9:00: Breakfast (free)
9:00-12:00 - 30 min. Small group reading instruction by district teachers and hands-on learning activities with agency staff
12:00-12:30 - Lunch (free)
12:30-3:00 - Enrichment activities including music, dance, outside scavenger hunts, sports, etc. Virtual visits from the Audubon, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Impact, Infinity, and more. Weekly virtual field trips.
3:00 - Dismissal - parent pick up
3:00-5:00 - Wrap around care may be offered by partner agencies
Frequently Asked Questions
A: All students will have the opportunity to participate in wrap-around care if it is being provided in the school building your student attends for camp for an additional fee (DSS subsidies accepted).
A: We understand that in the summer you may have other obligations but we strongly encourage your child to attend every day possible.
A: No. Your child can come just for the reading instruction.
A: The teacher believes your child would have fun, enjoy the experience, and improve his/her reading skills!
A: The program is free for all JPS students
