Mrs. Beth Peterson
At a time when everything seems so foreign and feels like it is changing everyday, there is one thing you can count on: I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! Here is a little bit about me and my background:
I am lifelong resident of Jamestown. I absolutely love this City and the opportunities that students can only receive at JPS! I am married and have two children. My son is 18 and just graduated from JHS. My daughter is 3 and attends the JPS 3-year-old program at Heritage House. While I love my job here at Fletcher, I did not start out in the field of education. I worked as a paralegal for a local attorney for approximately 10 years before deciding to go back to school and obtain my teaching degree from SUNY Fredonia. While finishing my degree, I worked for Chautauqua Lake Child Care Center in Mayville, New York where I spent much of my time in the toddler room. Teaching toddlers is a true passion of mine! Once I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree, I substitute taught for Falconer Central Schools and Jamestown Public Schools before being hired full time as the YWCA's After School Program Coordinator here at Fletcher. When a teaching opportunity in Kindergarten opened here at Fletcher, I was hired to begin my career here. The rest, as they say, is history! While I loved working with Kindergarten students, working with 3-year-old students is a true passion of mine. I truly enjoy being able to spend my days with your little ones and watch them grow with you!
Also in our room is my paraprofessional, Ms. Baylee. Ms. Baylee is also a resident of Jamestown, living here with her husband and 3-year-old daughter. Prior to coming to JPS, she worked in child care at A Children's Place and Head Start. Ms. Baylee is an integral part of our classroom and truly enjoys helping your children become the best students they can be!
