• JPS Welcomes Back Students on September 6th for the 2022-23 School Year

    Jamestown Public Schools released its 2022-23 opening information today to students, parents and staff. The first day of school for the JPS 2022-23 school year will be Tuesday, September 6, 2022. The first day will be an 11:30 a.m. dismissal for all students. The first, full day of school will be Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

    Start times for Jamestown schools are:

    • Elementary schools begin at 8:20 a.m.
    • Middle school doors will open to students at 8:25 a.m. Homeroom begins at 8:30 a.m.
    • Jamestown High School students should report to their homerooms by 8:00 a.m. Students should check their student portal account for homeroom assignments beginning Saturday August 27th. Students who are unable to access their student portal account will be able to check homeroom lists posted around JHS on the first day of school. Full student schedules will be provided to all students in their homeroom on September 6th. 

    The breakfast program will begin at all buildings on the first day of school. The lunch program will begin on Wednesday, September 7th.  Every student is eligible for a free breakfast and lunch. School menus are available on the Jamestown Public Schools website (www.jpsny.org) under “School Menus” on the home page.

    After school programming will begin on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.  To find out more information on JPS after school programming, visit www.jpsny.org/afterschool.

    District bus service will also begin on Tuesday, September 6th. All students currently scheduled for bus transportation will receive a postcard in the mail detailing the pick-up and drop-off times and location.
