LEAP (Learning Enrichment and Academic Progress)

  • LEAPJPS LEAP (Learning Enrichment and Academic Progress) is a summer learning day-camp experience open to current kindergarten through 4th grade students that runs Monday through Friday, beginning July 10, 2023 and ending Aug. 18, 2023.  

    The camp includes breakfast and lunch, reading instruction, academic enrichment, engaging activities, and field trips and is made possible through a partnership between the Jamestown YMCA and YWCA and the Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys & Girls Club of Jamestown.

Daily Structure

  • 8:30 - Campers arrive at school - parents drop off

    8:30 - 9:00: Breakfast (free)

    9:00-12:00 - 30 min. Small group reading instruction by district teachers and hands-on learning activities with agency staff

    12:00-12:30 - Lunch (free)

    12:30-3:00 - Enrichment activities including music, dance, outside scavenger hunts, sports, etc. Virtual visits from the Audubon, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Impact, Infinity, and more. Weekly virtual field trips. 

    3:00 - Dismissal - parent pick up

    3:00-5:00 - Wrap around care may be offered by partner agencies
