What will be expected of students when they are assigned to remote learning?

Based on their assigned cohorts, students will be assigned to remote learning full time or part-time when not attending in-person sessions. During this time of remote learning, students will be expected to have daily interactions with their teachers that focus on learning or assessment of learning. The type of interaction may vary throughout the week, depending on the teacher’s goal and needs of the students. This may include video-conferencing, social media check-ins or even independent studies.

Will there be a regular daily schedule to follow when students are assigned to remote learning?

Students in cohorts who are assigned to full-time remote learning will follow a regular daily schedule that will be defined by the school. Students in cohorts that are assigned to part-time remote learning will also follow a regular daily schedule that will be defined by the school when not attending in-person sessions. Students also may have additional set times for regular interactions determined by their teacher.

How will students access lessons and assignments to be completed during remote learning?

Lessons and assignments will be delivered and completed through the district-supported learning management system of Google Classroom (Grades 3-12) and Seesaw (Grades PK-2).

Will students be doing the same lessons during remote learning as students attending in person?

Although the  lesson or task may be different, all learning across grade levels or content areas will be focused on the same essential learning standards

Will students receive live instruction from a teacher when assigned to remote learning?

Remote learning may include live instruction, but also may include recorded lessons or even independent studies based on the goals of the teacher or needs of the student.

How will students receive instructional support from a teacher when assigned to remote learning? 

Instructional support will be initiated by teachers about aspects of the course, additional guidance, etcetera. Set times for interventions will be established with students. Students will also be encouraged to reach out to teachers for any needed assistance and support.

How will students be able to contact their teacher(s) for help if they need assistance?

Students will be able to contact teachers through the learning management system, via email, or by calling your child’s school. 

How will students receive feedback from teachers on the work completed when assigned to remote learning?

Feedback from teachers on work completed may be given real-time or written through video-conferencing, social media check-ins or even the district-supported learning management system of Google Classroom (Grades 3-12) and Seesaw (Grades PK-2).

How will teachers know that students are participating in daily learning activities when assigned to remote learning?

Daily attendance and participation are required when assigned to remote learning. Participation may be documented by participating in live or recorded lessons, submission of assigned tasks or projects, completion of assessments, etc. 

Will students be graded for their participation when assigned to remote learning?

Students will be graded through their completion of tasks, assessments, projects, etc. assigned during remote learning

How will students receive additional services as required by IEP or ENL programs?

All additional services that are required for students will be provided during in-person sessions or during remote learning time. These services may be provided through the use of technology such as video conferencing, teletherapy, etc. when appropriate.
