Safety & Security
Our Commitment to a Safe Learning Environment
At Jamestown Public Schools, the safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors are our top priorities. We are dedicated to creating a secure environment where everyone can focus on learning and personal growth.
We are proud to have two dedicated School Resource Officers (SROs) who work tirelessly to maintain a safe atmosphere within our schools. In addition to our SROs, JPS employs a team of safety and security officers, commonly known as "redshirts." These officers are strategically placed throughout the district to provide additional support and ensure that our schools are secure at all times.
We understand that safety concerns can arise at any time. To facilitate prompt and confidential reporting, JPS offers an anonymous reporting system made possible through Sandy Hook Promise. This system allows students, parents, and staff to report any suspicious activity, bullying, or safety concerns without revealing their identity.
The Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) is a crucial part of our commitment to providing a safe and supportive learning environment. If your child experiences bullying, harassment, or discrimination, you can file a DASA complaint. Our administration is dedicated to addressing these issues promptly and effectively to ensure that all students feel respected and safe.
Together, we can create a safe and welcoming environment for all members of the Jamestown Public Schools community.
