Raptor Visitor Management

Beginning February 1, 2023, all visitors will be asked to present a valid photo ID such as a state-issued driver's license or non-driver identification card. The visitor’s photo ID will be scanned or manually entered into the Raptor system. Once entry is approved, the system will produce a visitor's pass that includes the visitor's picture and name, as well as the date, time, and location of the visit. The visitor's pass must be worn and be visible during the entire visit. When in the building, the visitor is only approved to visit the specific location requested. Upon exiting the school, all visitors are required to return to the front desk and return the visitor's pass to sign out.

Raptor is a visitor management system that enhances school security by scanning visitor drivers’ licenses or other approved ID, screening against the registered sex offender databases in all 50 states and alerting school administrators and School Resource Officers (SROs) if a match is found. Once cleared through the system, a visitor badge is produced that includes a photo, the date and the reason for the visit.  The system also keeps a log of all visitors to the building.

Yes. School officials need to know who is in the building and why they are there. Particularly when a student is involved, school officials must be able to confirm that an individual has the authority to have access to the student

The scanner is able to scan all state licenses, state identification cards, consular ID cards, green cards, active military cards, and passport cards (not the full passport). 

Raptor is only scanning the visitor’s name, date of birth and photo for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders and any private alerts at the school. Additional visitor data will not be gathered, and no data will be shared with any outside company or organization.

If a visitor does not have a US government-issued ID, schools may accept an alternate photo ID provided that the ID indicates the visitor’s name and date of birth. In addition, a second form of ID with the visitor’s name may be required.

Visitors must return to the entry they came in, and will be asked to return the visitor badge to the office.  The office staff will look up the name of the person who is signing out and record the departure time

A visitor’s badge will not be necessary for those who visit our schools to simply drop off an item to the office or pick up paperwork. Such visitors may not be admitted into the school building, however.

In order to protect student safety, children will only be released to approved individuals who have presented a photo ID to confirm their identity. School visitors may be asked to present a photo ID to be scanned or manually entered into the system for verification and record keeping. Once cleared, your child will be called to the main office from their current location or you may be issued a badge to meet your child in a designated location in the school. If issued a badge, you must return to the office to sign out.

No, we will not be scanning IDs for events or activities held after school hours.
