Jamestown High School senior, John Rosario, was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Jamestown Teacher’s Association (JTA). John, who will be attending Jamestown Community College next year, will major in education with plans to become a social studies or English as a New Language teacher. The JTA Scholarship is given to a senior each year that is going into the field of education.
“The JTA is thrilled to be able to recognize and assist a young man like John in achieving his goal to one day become a teacher,” said JTA President Chris Reilly. “Although I don't know John personally, everything I have heard about him indicates that he is committed and devoted to everything he does. Once he completes his work at JCC and SUNY Fredonia, he is exactly the type of person we need to join the profession.”
John has been a contributor to WRFA-LP 107.9FM’s Youth Hispanic Radio and a member of the JHS Garden Club. John plans to continue his studies after JCC at SUNY Fredonia.
